I’m launching a defense-focused fiber-optic product line and growing it from zero into a full manufacturing operation.
The assignment
At Wake, I’m taking Fortis Fiber from an early product concept toward a repeatable production line for mission-ready fiber-optic systems. The work sits at the intersection of product engineering, process development, quality, and factory design.
The goal is not simply to make working hardware. It is to create documented, measurable processes that can turn pilot builds into reliable volume manufacturing in Los Angeles.

Develop fixtures, work instructions, station-level checks, and material flow so each assembly follows the same controlled recipe.
Connect serials, measurements, and final QC to every unit—then use that data to turn pilot lots into a scalable manufacturing operation.
The product line
Fortis Fiber makes ultralight, bend-insensitive single-mode fiber assemblies for tethered FPV and UAS platforms. Systems can be configured with complete media-converter sets or as fiber spools, with the optical performance of every build measured and recorded.
